Terms of Service

Welcome to Rift Command, a sci-fi space survival game operated by the Rift Command team ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the game and the website at rift-command.com (together, the "Service"). By playing the game or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Rift Command is a browser-based game in which you command a starship bridge, manage scarce resources, and try to survive the rift. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and play the game for your own private entertainment, subject to these Terms.

We may add, change, or remove features, content, and game mechanics at any time. The Service is provided on an ongoing basis and may be updated, suspended, or discontinued in whole or in part.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use the Service. If you are under the age required to consent to the processing of personal data where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

Some features may require an account. You are responsible for any activity that happens under your account and for keeping your access credentials secure. Please tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

5. Player content

If the Service lets you submit content (such as a callsign, ship name, or messages), you keep ownership of what you submit, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display it as needed to operate the Service. You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to share it.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its code, artwork, audio, text, game design, and the "Rift Command" name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the licence to play granted above, no rights are transferred to you. You may not copy, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written permission.

8. Virtual items

Any in-game currency, items, upgrades, or progress have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and may be changed, reset, or removed. We do not guarantee that any virtual item or progress will remain available.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that game data and progress will always be preserved. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or game progress, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
